Social Media Policy
Toyota Industries Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Toyota Industries") has established the Social Media Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") regarding the operation of its official social media accounts. It aims to make Toyota Industries' and its Group's various initiatives related to its products, technologies, services, and social contribution activities known to more people by providing appropriate information through social media.
In the use of social media
- We will practice the Toyota Industries Group Code of Conduct, which sets forth how Toyota Industries Group employees should conduct business activities in good faith and with integrity in compliance with laws and regulations, internal regulations, ethics, and social norms.
- We will make effort to provide incorrect information or cause misunderstanding, paying attention to the details of the information we provide and the method of providing it.
- If we provide incorrect information or use misleading expressions, we will promptly express our apologies and make corrections.
- We will never disguise our identity, and will strive to provide information and engage in dialogue as sensible individuals.
- We will comply with the rules of each social media service opened and operated by a third party, and will respect its culture and manners.
- We will respect third parties' rights including intellectual property rights and privacy rights, and will pay attention not to infringe the rights of others or to defame them.
Rules to be observed regarding use
Users will not make posts that fall or may fall under the following relating to Toyota Industries' official social media accounts. If users violate these rules, Toyota Industries may delete their posts or temporarily or permanently block their accounts, or take other measures, as necessary, without prior or subsequent notice to such users:
- Posts that violate laws and regulations or public policy;
- Posts that may lead to criminal acts;
- Posts that contain personal information (including photos of persons or the like) which have not been approved by the relevant individual;
- Posts that attack, criticize, defame, discredit, or slander specific individuals or groups;
- Posts that contain obscene expressions;
- Posts on topics of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or politics;
- Posts that practice or promote discrimination based on race, thought, creed, or the like;
- Posts regarded as political, election campaign, or religious activities, or similar activities;
- Posts that are mere rumors or may encourage rumors, or that contain false information;
- Posts by users suspected of impersonating third parties;
- Posts that contain malicious content such as harmful programs;
- Posts that violate the trademark rights, copyrights, or other intellectual property rights, portrait rights, privacy rights, or other rights of other users, third parties, or Toyota Industries;
- Posts that cause trouble, disadvantages, or damage to other users, third parties, Toyota Industries, or its employees or the like;
- Posts that are prohibited by the relevant social media operating company;
- Acts that interfere with the operation of or otherwise cause problems to Toyota Industries' official social media accounts;
- Posts that are against the aims of the Policy or irrelevant to Toyota Industries' official social media accounts;
- Acts intended for profit-making activities;
- Acts made with the whole or any part of the content provided on Toyota Industries' official social media accounts changed; or
- Other acts judged by Toyota Industries to be inappropriate.
Replies, follow-ups, sharing, reposts, etc.
We will not respond to all comments made on Toyota Industries' accounts, while we have different response policies according to the social media. Toyota Industries may follow other accounts, press the "like" button on, share, or repost other accounts' posts, or cancel or delete them, as necessary.
Rights, etc.
The copyrights and any and all other intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to, copyrights, design rights, patent rights, utility model rights, trademark rights, and know-how) to information posted by Toyota Industries on its official social media accounts belong to Toyota Industries or persons who have the legitimate rights to them.
Personal information
Personal information obtained by Toyota Industries from users will be managed appropriately in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
Compensation for damages
In the event that users cause tangible or intangible damage to Toyota Industries in relation to their use of Toyota Industries' social media, Toyota Industries may claim compensation for such damage.
Disclaimer
- Toyota Industries does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of the information on its social media. Any information on social media is current at the time of provision and subject to change.
- Toyota Industries will not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting from the use of, or inability to use, its social media. Toyota Industries will not be liable for any troubles or disputes of any kind arising between users or between a user and a third party in connection with Toyota Industries' social media.
- Toyota Industries does not warrant or approve the content of any information provided by users by posting or other means.
Change to the Social Media Policy
Toyota Industries may change the Social Media Policy without prior notice. In case of any change, the Policy after the change will take effect at the time when published by Toyota Industries by posting it on its official website or by other means.
