ⅰ. Soil and Groundwater Testing Results in Kariya Plant

In the Kariya Plant, soil and groundwater testing was carried out and it newly revealed some parts of the site exceeded control values. Toyota Industries reported to the Aichi Prefecture and made a public announcement about the results on December 22, 2015.
Based on Aichi Prefecture’s instructions, Toyota Industries takes continuous measures to clean the contamination in putting a top priority on not to make troubles to neighborhood residents.

ⅱ. Groundwater Pollution Purification in Kariya and Kyowa Plant

Toyota Industries carries out surveys and purification of soil and groundwater contaminated from the past use of trichloroethylene. We regularly report the survey results to local government authorities and provide information at local community meetings. As measures to prevent pollution from substances covered by the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Law as well as from grease and oils, we have drilled observation wells at all plants to conduct regular checks.
