The Story of Sakichi Toyoda
Sakichi Toyoda, the founder of Toyota Industries Corporation, possessed a strong ambition to contribute to society from his days as a youth. He had devoted his 63-year-long life to invention.
To etablish a carbon neutral society, we set the prevention of global warming as our highest priority and seek to minimize our CO2 emissions by means of reducing the energy consumption of all our business operations.

Under the Sixth Plan, we worked toward achieving fiscal 2021 targets of reducing total non-consolidated CO2 emissions by 10% and global emission volume per unit of production by 26%, both from the fiscal 2006 level, and succeeded in achieving both targets.
