By taking this opportunity, we have visited welfare facilities together with
the stable master and his pupils every year since Year 2000.
The
Special Olympics is an international sports organization for individuals with
intellectual disabilities. The sporting events planned by this organization allow
the athletes, their families, and volunteers to come together as one. The aim
is not only to promote physical development and help the athletes to improve
their athletic abilities, but also foster their courage and determination to
take on new challenges, and to have them share in the joy of accomplishment and
the joy of living. We are proud to support these sporting events through the
provision of its sports facilities and volunteers from its employees.
Every
year We hold an annual "Welfare Concert" at the Kariya City Civic Center
to be performed by the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra. We invite people from welfare
facilities and students from schools for the people with disabilities to attend.
The concert is organized in collaboration with eight Toyota Group companies which
are located in Kariya city.
We
set up booths for NPOs and other welfare organizations at various company events
in order to give them the opportunity to sell their products directly. As a part
of our efforts, we added their products such as bread, pudding, cream puffs and
cakes to the menu of our Kariya and Takahama plant’s cafeteria. Such menus are
very popular among our employees.
The
World Terakoya Movement supports the creation of educational environments for
people around the world who cannot read or write or do simple calculations. The
Hunger Free World organization undertakes activities for the purpose of eradicating
hunger and poverty. The employees from Toyota Industries Group companies supply
un-mailed postcards, used pre-paid telephone cards, and used CDs or DVDs that
are then donated to both of these worthy causes.
