Toyota Industries is carrying out various activities to contribute to the local community based on the concept of "Co-Existing in Harmony with Local Communities".
We participate
in the "Kariya Mando Festival" with local residents to
help preserve traditional culture. This festival, with a history of over 200
years, has been designated by Aichi Prefecture as an intangible folklore cultural
asset.
Every year at each of our Japanese production plants the Summer "Noryo" Festival is held and all the local residents are invited to enjoy the festival.
We carry
out "Community Discussion" with local residents for the purpose
of sharing information about, and finding possible solutions to various local
problems. The participants in the meetings are representatives from the local
community and also from the related departments at our company such as General
Administration Dept., Environment Dept., Public Affairs Dept., and Human Resources
Dept. When necessary, local government officers and/or local assembly members
in charge may also attend the discussions. Opinions are exchanged on various
topics including our business activities and its associated environmental risks,
community events, crime and disaster prevention, and traffic safety.
As
a part of crime prevention activities in close cooperation with the local community,
We designated date that contains the numeral five of each month
as a "patrol day" and our employees volunteer for crime prevention
patrol activities.
In addition, our employees also participate in patrols at the end of the year
in cooperation with the local police force and community crime prevention patrol
groups.
Various local Community activities are being conducted by all Toyota industries overseas companies (subsidiaries).
