Community Communication

Toyota Industries is carrying out various activities to contribute to the local community based on the concept of "harmonious co-existence between our company and the local citizens".

Production Plant Tours

Production Plant ToursToyota Industries holds annual tours of its plants at the seven Toyota Group companies that are based in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture. We provide local citizens with the rare opportunity to see on-site production being carried out at company plants with their own eyes.

Participation in the Kariya Mando Festival

Participation in the Kariya Mando FestivalToyota Industries participates in the "Kariya Mando Festival" with local residents, who live in the area around the Kariya Plant, to help preserve traditional culture. This festival, with a history of over 200 years, has been designated by Aichi Prefecture as an intangible folklore cultural asset.
Since FY 2006 children of employees from our overseas bases have come to participate in the festival and enjoy a taste of traditional Japanese culture.

Summer "Noryo" Festival

Every year at each of our Japanese production plants the Summer "Noryo" Festival is held and all the local residents who live around the plants are invited to enjoy the festivities.

The Holding of Community Discussion Meetings

The Holding of Community Discussion Toyota Industries carries out "community discussions" with local citizens for the purpose of sharing information about, and finding possible solutions to, various local problems. The participants in the meetings are representatives from the local community and also from the related departments at our company such as General Administration, Environment, Public Affairs, and Human Resources. When necessary, government administrators and local legislators may also attend the discussions. Opinions are exchanged on various topics including Toyota Industries' business activities and the associated environmental risks, community events, crime and disaster prevention, and traffic safety.
