Explanation of terminology

Factor :

Expresses the ratio of the environmental efficiency of a product in development to the environmental efficiency(*1) of a standard product.

*1 Environmental Efficiency =	Product functionality
	Environmental impact

NOx :

Nitrogen Oxides. They have harmful effects on the respiratory organs and are also a cause of acid rain and photochemical smog.

HC :

Hydrocarbons. They are a cause of photochemical smog.

PM :

Suspended Particulate Matter. It has harmful effects on the respiratory organs and is also said to possibly cause cancer.

Recovery Possibility rate :

Expresses the percentage of mass that can be reused and recycled, as well as the energy that can be recovered from one product (part).
